Six Manitoba grassroots producer groups unify on interests, hopes and ambitions for national agriculture soil health strategy

Direct Farm Manitoba, Holistic Management Canada, MFGA, Manitoba Organic Alliance, Regeneration Canada, and Young Agrarians have released a joint response to the potential National Agricultural Soil Health Strategy from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Soil Conservation Council of Canada, ensuring Manitoba's grassroots producer voices are represented and unified.

CARBON-ERA SERIES

These days, led by the proactive push of governments and industry and the willingness to engage by producers on their lands, we all are increasingly immersed in a rapidly-moving Carbon Era as producers, agriculture groups, industry, conservation orgs and governments focus on sequestering carbon via agricultural practices across Canada’s Prairie region. In our MFGA Carbon-Era Series, we are hoping to tackle some of the uncertainties, myths and questions around carbon to help producers better understand their options, potential and next moves in the fast-moving dialogues around carbon and farmers.

ON-FARM THOUGHTS

This Blog began after MFGA held a Covid-19-reduced Annual General Meeting online November 3, 2020. At the MFGA AGM, our MFGA executive had a chance to share their reports and thoughts on the year that was and the year ahead. Larry Wegner decided to share that report to the membership on December 31, adding a Blog on “where we go from here”. And so the tradition continues with contributions from other MFGA members as well.
